Better Together: Embracing the Diverse Experiences of Women Brunch

On Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 11 am – 1 pm at the Kelton House Museum & Garden, join the Junior League of Columbus’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) committee for a free brunch panel titled “Better Together: Embracing the Diverse Experiences of Women.”

A panel of women will discuss how DEIB has been practiced in their organizations and the lessons they learned.

Speakers

 

Habiba Bankston – Executive Director, Dress for success – Habiba K. Bankston is a leader with over 10 years of experience in leadership, reputation management, donor relations, employee engagement, program development & management. Currently, Habiba serves as Executive Director of Dress for Success Columbus, empowering all women to achieve economic independence by providing career development tools, a network of support, and professional attire to help women thrive in work and in life. In addition to her professional work, she is passionate about service to the community. Habiba has served as a thought leader on young professional’s interests, experiences, and priorities through her work with the Create Columbus Commission, a board of young professionals, appointed by the Mayor and City Council President to help lead strategic community-building efforts to help make Columbus the nation’s number one place for young professionals to live, work, and play.

Diana Pagan – Director of Development & Community Partnerships, Dress for Success –Diana Pagán serves as the new Director of Development & Community Partnerships at Dress for Success Columbus. Diana is an experienced development professional who comes to Dress for Success Columbus with over 19 years of experience with non-profits in the field of women and girls, the arts, and international affairs. Most recently, Diana served as the Manager of Inclusion & Community Development for the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA). She also served as the annual Fund Manager for Festival Latino and the Lincoln Theatre Association for CAPA, raising over $1.5 million in support of Festival Latino over the past 13 years, and managed and maintained the yearly development goals supporting the Lincoln Theatre.

Karen Hewitt M.Ed.  –Associate  Director of Leadership Columbus and Co-Founder of The Ohio REST Collective – Karen is committed to doing the work of holding space to create connection, belonging, and community. Ze is also a highly requested speaker and facilitator and is considered a Subject Matter Expert in Gender and Sexuality, Intersectionality, Diversity and Culture Management, and Leadership Development.

Devray Kirkland – VP, DE& I and Chief Diversity Officer Cardinal Health – Devray is responsible for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide diversity strategies through related programs, initiatives, and projects. His involvement includes the development of the internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, and the Black and African-American Racial Equity cabinet.
