Better Together Brunch : Embracing Allyship, Inclusion, and Intersectionality

The JL Columbus DEIB team has put together a lineup of panelist for a dynamic and thought provoking conversation. Together, we will explore the vital concept of Allyship in our diverse and interconnected world. Our guest will share their stories of allyship and advocacy in the face of everyday challenges.

We want our guest to leave empowered with a renewed commitment to take concrete steps towards a more equitable and inclusive community.

Panelist :

Judge Laurel Beatty Blunt – She was appointed to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas General Division in 2009. Passionate about civic education, many organizations in the Central Ohio area have trusted Judge Beatty Blunt to use her judicial experience to educate the public about the justice system and the importance of voting.

Dr. Rustin M. Moore – Professor and the Ruth Stanton Chair in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Moore is passionate about and a frequently invited speaker on topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the veterinary profession and more broadly.

Dr. Sharee Blackmon – Director of Human Resources at the Columbus Foundation, Sharee is responsible for driving policies, practices, and programs that support and align with the organization’s goals and objective. In addition to her day to day work she has taken on the task of enabling The Columbus Foundations’ diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives.

Jocelyn M. Armstrong, Esq.– As Director of Inclusion and Outreach at the Ohio Bar Association leads programming and integration of inclusion, diversity, and equity in association culture. Jocelyn is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and broader community.

Kourtni M Hatton, SHRM-CP – As VP & Chief People & Equity Officer at United Way of Central Ohio, Ms. Hatton is responsible for amplifying United Way’s DEI, workplace culture and employee engagement efforts. She is passionate about reinvesting in Central Ohio, demonstrated through her volunteerism as a board member and mentor.
