Requesting Future Partnerships

Requesting Future Partnerships

In 2005, the Junior League of Columbus launched a new method to begin or advance collaborative community projects with other local nonprofit organizations. The Requesting Future Partnerships program invites local nonprofit organizations to partner with the Junior League of Columbus to create or advance an existing project that “keeps kids safe” – the focus area of the Junior League of Columbus.

The Requesting Future Partnerships program is used to solicit proposals for “Quick Impact” projects. A “Quick Impact” project maximizes volunteer and monetary resources, addresses a need within the greater Columbus community, occurs as a one-time event, and furthers the Junior League of Columbus’ focus on keeping children safe. Previous Quick Impact partners include: Starr Commonwealth’s Hannah Neil Center for Children, The YMCA of Central Ohio’s Early Childhood Resource Network, Directions for Youth and Families, Ohio Designer Craftsmen’s Hand in Hand program, NuLife Bridges Youth Advocacy Center, St. Stephen’s Community House and Godman Guild. Community partners interested in collaborating on a Quick Impact project are invited to attend an informational session and community reception to learn about the Junior League of Columbus and the volunteer and financial resources available. Informational sessions occur in September and April of each year.

The Requesting Future Partnerships program is also used to solicit larger-scale projects which occur through the year and pledge volunteers and funding over several years. Under this branch of the Requesting Future Partnerships program, the Junior League of Columbus is providing volunteer and financial support for Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Reach Out & Read program. Community organizations interested in collaborating on such a project should contact the Junior League of Columbus.

The Spring Request for Future Partnerships Reception will take place at the Kelton House Museum and Garden (586 East Town Street, Columbus) on Thursday, March 4th at 6:30 p.m. If you or a member of your organization would like to join us, please RSVP to the Junior League by phone at 614-464-2717 or e-mail at jlcolumbus@sbcglobal.net. If you cannot attend, but would still like information on how you might propose a Quick Impact project, simply call or e-mail to let us know of your interest.

If you would like to view a copy of the community letter of invitation, please click here.

The deadline for "Quick Impact" proposals is Friday, April 2, 2010.
