Quick Impact Projects maximize volunteer and monetary resources, address a need within the Columbus community, and occur as a one-time event. A Quick Impact Project combines trained volunteers and funding.
Quick Impact Project Selections, Spring 2010
The Governor's Office for Women's Initiatives and Outreach (GOWIO) promotes public policy that advances the status of Ohio's women and girls by strengthening our communities and families. The office maintains a diverse approach, and focuses on economic development, health, education, personal safety and other areas impacted by state government. Volunteers will be assisting with registration, administering a short survey, and coordinating with kitchen staff. This event will be held on March 7th.
United Methodist Children's Home serves children ages 10 and above who have mental or behavioral challenges that are best addressed in a residential environment. This project will focus on making outdoor improvements to the 47 acre property by assisting with any of the following as needed: pruning, planting, weeding, mowing, mulching, trimming and edging. This project will take place place on April 17th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. To learn more about the United Methodist Children's Home please visit their website at www.umchohio.org.
Columbus Housing Partnership is a private, non-profit organization that provides quality, affordable housing and related services to low to moderate income households in Columbus and the surrounding areas. A goal of the Columbus Housing Partnership is to provide a range of free, holistic programs and links to social services designed to meet the needs and enhance the lives of their residents. On May 8th, from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Junior League members will assist with a health fair at the Marsh Run Apartment Community.
