Greetings from the President:

Dear JLC Members,

Borrowing the words from Dr. Suess ~~  

“Today is you day. You’re off to great places.  You’re off and away.”

What an undertaking we have accomplished in the past three years!!

First, we determined our destination.  We decided to redo our strategic plan and we decided to take on a new organizational structure as part of that redo.  We had to ask ourselves the fundamental question – how do we move the organization forward to fully support our mission and a new vision statement??

Second, we mapped and planned.  We plotted our course, looked at alternative routes and determined the best direction for our organization to take.  Where do we start?  How long will it take?  Where do we stop along the way?  We sought input from others – from other leagues, from AJLI and most importantly from you. 

Finally, we are packed and ready to start our excellent adventure!  What a year we are about to embark upon.  Oh the places we will go and the things we will learn about ourselves and our organization – I am excited to get started!  There will be roadblocks, construction detours, forks in the road which may cause us to alter our course.  Hopefully we will find some scenic spots to rest, recharge and celebrate. 

Our trip will only be successful if you are there to help!  We will need help navigating.  Believe it or not, this is one trip where backseat drivers are welcomed and encouraged!  This trip is too large for only a few to lead us.  We will continue to need everyone’s input and expertise!

I cannot wait to start our mission:

The Junior League of Columbus, Incorporated is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
